Through the Lens

During the month of September, the museum’s gallery is hosting the exhibit “Through the Lens”, featuring a diverse array of photos from the museum’s archives. These ‘untouched’ photos are in the original condition as received by the donors, several being turn of the century. The images range from tribal leaders, WPA programs and the Dawes Commission to Oklahoma civic and political leaders to local landscapes. Many photos that we have acquired are donated because of the death of a family member, etc. and unfortunately, the donors may not know anything about the images. Because of this, there are a few that have no information listed. Visitors are urged to let our staff know if they have any information on the unidentified pieces displayed in this unique exhibit.
