This is not only a first time event\, but the Half Marathon will be the first one ever held in Muskogee and the 5k will be the first run on the new Hatbox 5k Loop Course completed last year. \nRunners will enjoy running on the flat surfaces of the loop trail (mostly old railroad track) and the runways of the historic Hatbox Airport. DESCRIPTION:The Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame is proud to present the Red Dirt Rangers CD release party and concert Saturday\, March 9th at the Hall. Doors open at 7pm and the show starts at 8pm. Tickets are $10. There will be concessions and a cash bar available. With much gratitude\, we thank these fine sponsors and supporters of live music for making this show possible: Muskogee Medical Foundation\, Mabrey Bank\, Charlie’s Chicken East\, Max’s Garage and Leslie Leeds/Leslie Scott Realty.\nThe Red Dirt Rangers have been carrying the banner for Red Dirt music since before the bands founding in 1988 at a two-story\, five- bedroom\, funky old place called the Farm.\nBen Han\, John Cooper\, and Brad Piccolo became an integral part of the Farm’s musical brotherhood\, trading songs and licks with the likes of Jimmy LaFave\, Tom Skinner\, Bob Childers and Randy Crouch. The Red Dirt Rangers were inducted into the Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame in June 2017.\nAs Rangers mandolinist-vocalist Cooper has noted\, “The Farm was as much an attitude as a physical structure. It allowed a setting where freedom rang and all things were possible. Out of this setting came the music.”\nIn the fall of 2018\, the band released its 10th recording\, Blue Door Nights\, recorded live at the Blue Door in Oklahoma City over two beautiful nights. The double-album recording celebrates those days at the Farm while remembering those who have gone before and with the help of younger singer-songwriters like John Fullbright.

For just $5.00 per adult and $3.00 per child\, you get a two for one. You can buy some great items such as Jewelry\, Arts & Crafts\, Quilts\, Candles and more\, all by local vendors\, and you can tour the museum. Fun for a wintry day!

DESCRIPTION:The Five Civilized Tribes Museum Student Art Show runs March 2nd – 31st. The competitive show features works from Five Civilized Tribes student grades 7th – 12th. The three categories featured in the show are painting/drawing\, sculpture& woodcarving and cultural arts. The subject matter reflects the culture and/or history of at least one of the Five Civilized Tribes. The museum is located at 1101 Honor Heights Drive\, Muskogee. Museum hours are 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. M-F and 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. Saturday – closed Sunday.
